The Welsh Springer is, above all, an ideal family dog well suited to many different activities. We love to meet up with fellow breed enthusiasts and we often organise fun dog walks in our beautiful Welsh countryside where we swap stories.

Our walks tend to be more chat than walk and everyone has a lot to say about their Welsh Springers and different stories to tell – but there again it is surprising how similar they all are – the words loving, caring, Velcro dogs, intelligent, active, are commonly used.

And it’s amazing the variety of activities they get involved with – underlining just how intelligent this breed can be. We have members who take their charges along to local nursing homes as PAT dogs to entertain those people in care.

There are those who do Man Trailing where the dog must learn how to track down missing persons.

We have very fit and active members who do Cannicross, that’s cross-country running with their dogs even up to international standard.
